> Subject: Database Corrupting Bug in 9.1D Service Packs ...
I am sorry to have to inform you that a few days ago we discovered a serious
database corrupting bug in the 9.1D01 and 9.1D02 service packs. The bug
does NOT exist in the base 9.1D release.
The bug is ONLY in the database conversion utility, conv89. It can occur
when converting a version 8 database to a version 9 database. The bug
corrupts the database irreparably and the only recourse is to restore from a
backup.
The main symptom of the bug is that after the conversion has been completed,
you will get the following error message when you try to open the database:
23:23:38 BROKER 0: SYSTEM ERROR: rlVerifyTxTable mb_txnSequence: note=0
mstrblk=0. (10611)
The bug affects ONLY the conv89 utility in the 9.1D01 and 9.1D02 service
packs.
If you have either 9.1D01 or 9.1D02 installed and you need to convert a
database from version 8 to version 9, you have the following options:
* Install 9.1D and use it to perform the conversion
* Wait for the next service pack, 9.1D03, which is expected to be available
sometime tomorrow, December 6, after testing has been completed. In the
meantime, 9.1D02 has been withdrawn.
Except for correcting this bug, 9.1D02 and 9.1D03 are otherwise identical.
Once you have 9.1D03, you should remove all copies of 9.1D01 and 9.1D02
I apologize for this. It is inexcusable.

А что, часто конвертить базы из восьмерки приходится? Другое дело, что возникает мысль "а что еще найдут?"
