Progress Software is pleased to announce the commercial availability of OpenEdge 11.1!

With the release of OpenEdge 11.1, Progress continues to lead the way in SaaS and Cloud enablement while delivering the enhancements that partners and customers have been asking for.

OpenEdge 11.1 extends support for Database Multi-tenancy, enhances OpenEdge BPM, and introduces new features for Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge, ABL, DataServers, AppServer, and Security.

Highlights of the new release include:

1. Multi-tenant governors for users per tenant and record locks per tenant.
2. Enhanced multi-tenant tooling in the OpenEdge Explorer Data Administration Console.
3. Database performance improvements for Index Rebuild, network performance, and buffers in the LRU chain.
4. Debug listing support in Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge.
5. Double-click and command-line support for opening files in Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge.
6. Certification of Eclipse 3.7.1.
7. Character extent support in the ABL API for OpenEdge BPM.
8. Get*Tasks method to support advanced filtering in OpenEdge BPM.
9. LIKE phrase for method and function parameters in ABL.
10. Encoded password support in ABL.
11. ABL-based username/password authentication with the Client-Principal.
12. TCP Keepalive properties for the .NET OpenClient.
13. Update to Version 7.0 of Progress DataDirect Connect and Connect64 for ODBC DataServers.
